Do you like hiking in Switzerland? Get inspiration by watching this video about a Swiss hike in the canton of Vaud: the tour de la Palette situated in les Diablerets.
Last weekend, we went hiking to Les Diablerets. We wanted a not too long and not too short hike, we found that the Tour de la Palette was kind of perfect as it takes around 3 hours. We parked at the Col du Pillon, right right next to the cable car going up to glacier 3000. It is a rather hot day for a month of October but we have taken our precautions, we bring jackets and sweaters knowing that we will climb up to 2000 meters of altitude. After crossing several pastures, we quickly reach the Lake Retaud, a charming mountain lake with benches and a restaurant. We stop to take some pictures before resuming the hike. We climb for 30 minutes before reaching the chalet de la Marnèche in Isenau. The place is magnificent and you can admire Leysin and the Tours d’Aï in the distance. We continue our walk and arrive at the chalet of Isenau, nicely decorated with cowbells. After a well-deserved break, we start again and arrive half an hour later at the top of la Palette. From here, we have lunch while enjoying the panoramic view of the Alps and Lake Arnon, a magnificent mountain lake. Finally we go down for a good hour to reach the Lake Retaud, then to the parking lot of the Col du Pillon.
